Mercedes-Benz has maintained its position as the bestselling luxury brand in India in 2023, and it hopes to continue to do so in 2024. The brand has plans to bring at least nine new cars and SUVs next year, so without further ado, here's a look at each one and what they will offer.

New Mercedes-Benz E-Class
Price: Rs 70 lakh-90 lakh
Launch: Late 2024
Engine: 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, 2.0-litre diesel
The sixth-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class will arrive in India by late 2024 and it’ll only be available in long-wheelbase form, like the previous generations. The all-new luxury sedan is larger than its predecessor and has many design elements seen on the flagship S-Class. It remains to be seen if the ‘Superscreen’ – made up of a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 12.3-inch passenger touchscreen – will be available on the India-spec E-Class. Mercedes is expected to offer either a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid assist option or a 2.0-litre diesel engine option for India; a 9-speed automatic will be standard across the range.
Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV
Price: Rs 4 crore
Launch: Late 2024
Battery: 108.4kWh
Mercedes’ luxury sub-brand, Maybach, is set to bring the all-electric EQS SUV to the country late next year. Naturally, there’ll be oodles of chrome on the outside, along with signature Maybach wheels, dual-tone paint and Maybach logos to help differentiate it from the standard EQS SUV. The Maybach EQS SUV’s cabin is expected to be richly appointed, eminently luxurious, and feature top-notch quality and materials. The all-electric SUV will be available in ‘680’ form, which means it’ll be powered by a 108.4kWh battery that is said to provide 600km of range on a single charge. Two electric motors on each axle deliver a total output of 658hp and 950Nm of torque, which helps this big SUV sprint to 100kph in 4.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 210kph.
Mercedes-Benz EQG SUV
Price: Rs 3 crore
Launch: Late 2024
Battery: TBA
The electric equivalent of the hardy G-Class SUV, the EQG, sports very similar boxy styling. However, Mercedes-Benz has made a number of revisions to the bodywork to make it as aerodynamic and efficient as possible. The Mercedes-Benz EQG will be based on a ladder-frame chassis, and is said to be as capable and tough as the standard ICE G-Class. What will boost its off-road cred is that the EQG gets four motors; one at each wheel. Uniquely, it also features a ‘G-Turn’ function where the electric motors turn the wheels on the left and right in opposing directions, allowing the vehicle to perform an on-the-spot 360-degree turn.
New Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe
Price: Rs 75 lakh-80 lakh
Launch: Early 2024
Engine: 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, 2.0-litre diesel
A swanky alternative to the more upright GLC SUV, the Mercedes GLC Coupe gets a raked roofline with a plunging liftback-like tailgate. Like its SUV sibling, the new-gen GLC Coupe is larger than its predecessor and sports the latest in connectivity, tech and features from Merc’s parts bin. The Coupe is likely to share its powertrain options with the SUV, and a performance-oriented AMG version is also likely to be on offer.
New Mercedes-AMG GT
Price: Rs 2.5 crore
Launch: Mid 2024
Engine: 4.0-litre turbo-petrol
The new Mercedes-AMG GT is larger and roomier than its predecessor, and is based on the new SL. Featuring a two-plus-two seating layout and a larger, more accessible boot, the new model is more practical as well. The new GT has a newly developed body structure, which uses aluminium, composite fibre materials, magnesium and steel. The two-door sports coupe is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 developing 476hp in 55 4Matic+ guise and 585hp in 63 4Matic+ form. Transmission duties are performed by a 9-speed AMG Speedshift automatic that powers all four wheels.
Mercedes-Benz CLE
Price: Rs 1.1 crore
Launch: Late 2024
Engine: 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, 2.0 diesel
Sharing its underpinnings with the C-Class and new-gen E-Class, the new CLE is a two-door, two-plus-two seater, which is available in international markets as a coupe and a cabriolet. The CLE’s cabin is strikingly similar to the C- and E-Class, but it features front seats with speakers integrated into the headrest that enhance the sound from the 17-speaker Burmester 3D surround sound system. The new model is far more roomier than the old C-Class coupe, especially at the rear; even boot space has increased to 420 litres. The global powertrain range includes four- and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, with rear- and four-wheel drive options.
Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift
Price: Rs 1.4 crore
Launch: Early 2024
Engine: 3.0-litre turbo-petrol, 3.0-litre diesel
The refreshed GLS SUV will come to India just months after Mercedes-Benz introduced it in the European and North American markets, underlining the importance of our market. Cosmetic updates on the outside of the GLS facelift include four horizontal louvres in the grille that get a Silver Shadow finish, a new front bumper with air inlet grilles and high-gloss black surrounds, and new tail-lamps that get three horizontal block patterns, forming a new motif.
There are more updates on the inside than on the outside – the biggest one is the upgraded MBUX infotainment system. Other changes include glossy brown lime wood trim, a permanent low-speed 360-degree camera, and new upholstery options that include Catalana Beige and Bahia Brown leather. 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol and diesel options are likely to be offered, along with the 9-speed automatic gearbox and the 4Matic AWD system.
Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift
Price: Rs 45 lakh-49 lakh
Launch: Early 2024
Engine: 1.3-litre turbo-petrol, 2.0-litre diesel
Mercedes-Benz took the wraps off the GLA facelift this May, showcasing that most of the design changes will be seen at the nose. LED lighting all around is now standard, and the wheel arches are now painted the same colour as the car’s exterior, replacing the black plastic on the outgoing car. Changes to the cabin are minimal, though the GLA facelift does get an updated MBUX infotainment system, with interior ambient lighting and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The current turbo-petrol and diesel engines are expected to continue.
Mercedes-Benz GLB facelift
Price: Rs 65 lakh-70 lakh
Launch: Early 2024
Engine: 1.3-litre turbo-petrol, 2.0-litre diesel
Like the GLA facelift, the refreshed GLB seven-seat SUV will get similar cosmetic enhancements on the inside and outside, as well as updates to the infotainment system. The petrol and diesel engines paired to dual-clutch auto gearboxes and the 4Matic all-wheel drive system, are expected to continue unchanged.
